THE INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC (EDM) HALL OF FAME INDUCTION PROCESS:
We have a 3-step process for managing our voting and data collection for the EDM Hall of Fame:
Data Collection (Candidate Selection):
The Committee Department is activated to initiate the candidate selection process. Over the next several months, data is researched from interviews, releases, discographies, and real-time information to narrow down the selections to just 18 candidates for induction into the Hall of Fame.
Rules for Induction:
1. All Candidates for Induction in The Electronic Dance Music Hall of Fame must have been active or inaugurated in the field of selection, at least 25 years previous to consideration for Induction.
2. All contributing considerations for Induction must be within the approved field of Electronic Dance Music:
A. Be of a composition of Electronically
created, altered or comprised by
Digital destribution of sound. (meaning
you cannot be a open PA group
without synthesizers or elements of
electronically sourced composition or
elements.)
B. Lie within the Beat Per Minute realm
of 115 to 180 BPM.
3. To be recognized in the music industry officially as a registered, contributing Electronic Dance Music Act ,Production group, and/or as services, that are distributing content that are directly and consistently related to the Electronic Dance Music field .
4. Be of Direct contribution not, hinderance, Negative or slanderous nature to the Electronic Dance Music Culture at large.
5. That All "Notations of Impact" for Induction must be able to be verified by 3 or more creditable sources in the music or journalist's fields.
6. The Inducted Party must, have a point of contact to represent and receive in some form the Induction .
Candidate Public Review Vote
The 18 selected candidates are certified and made public in 9 categories:
1. Vocalist
2. Band or Group
3. Organization or Inventor
4. Remixer
5. Producer or Composer
6. Space or Venue
7. DJ or Mixologist
8. Media/Publications
9. Recording or Engineering
Board Induction Selection:
Once the final results from the public opinion voting are in, and the date is verified, these results are submitted to the Board of Directors for certification on a secure data platform. Each Director will confirm that the collected data is accurate before casting a written vote for each candidate. After all votes are cast, they are collected by the IEDMHF Committee Secretary and securely stored in a national bank vault until announcement day.
INDUCTEE NOTIFICATION
Upon the certification of inductees, the Committee Director personally oversees the discreet contact with each Inductee to inform them of their acceptance into the upcoming Electronic Dance Music Inductions and coordinates their travel arrangements.
